The Candidate Bill of Rights – Is now the time?

As we know, people talk more about bad experiences than good. In the recruitment industry, by far the biggest complaint is the experience a candidate had during an interview process. More specifically, the lack of feedback to candidates who weren’t successful at various stages. There seems to be a growing dissatisfaction felt by job seekers.

With accountability through social media, firms clearly understand their employer brand is as important as ever. Having funding and a great strategy is one thing, but a firm can only exist if it can attract and retain exceptional people.

There seems to be too many people, whether hiring managers or recruiters who are ignoring basic human communication. Maybe this just comes down to setting and meeting candidate expectations which is often not done well enough.

For employers who want to provide an exceptional candidate experience, my suggestion is as follows:

Candidate Bill of Rights

We find that employers who get this right have a great candidate experience which makes attracting exceptional candidates that much easier.

What are your thoughts? What rights would you add?
