VP Supply Chain, EMEA – Fortune 300 Healthcare Firm

The Client:

A major NASDAQ listed distributor of healthcare products and services.

The Challenge:

We were asked to find a VP Supply Chain for the EMEA region, reporting to the SVP Global Services. The team at Bentley Lewis have extensive experience recruiting senior supply chain professionals and understand the issues and dynamics involved in a search of this nature.

This position was responsible for the procurement of materials, parts, components, systems, and equipment, as well as leading the purchasing/inventory, operations, logistics and transportation functions. The successful candidate needed to have a proven track record of delivering a similar international role, excellent leadership skills, and be a great addition to the EMEA leadership team.

There was a strong desire that the VP Supply Chain have gained the majority of his/her experience in a distribution environment. There was some time pressure due to the current incumbent retiring.

Our Solution:

The team went to meet the client at their offices in New York, and spent time meeting the key stakeholders. This enabled us to understand the culture of the organisation and take a full and detailed personal profile. We gained a great understanding of the technical requirements and was able to make an informed judgement on potential candidates’ fit with the organisation.

The team started by putting together a list of firms they thought candidates could be found in. Along with Bentley Lewis’s extensive database and network of contacts in the sector, an exceptional list of headhunted, interviewed and motivated candidates was presented to the client.

The Result:

The client was presented with a shortlist of qualified and evaluated candidates to take through to the next stage of the process. The team successfully managed the process and an offer was accepted by the clients preferred candidate.

The candidate has had some time with the previous incumbent before he retires. We are excited to see the impact he will have on the organisation.
